RESOLVED THAT: the Regular Meeting commence at the hour of 7:00 p.m. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT: Council acknowledges that we are meeting in the Robinson-Superior Treaty area on lands that have been traditionally used by several Indigenous nations, but, we would like to pay special recognition to our closest Indigenous neighbours, the communities of Biigtigong Nishnaabeg and Netmizaaggamig Nishnaabeg First Nations. We wish to recognize the long history of the First Nations and Métis peoples in our region, specifically, and show respect to them today. RESOLVED THAT:Council is in receipt of Administration Report ENF2024- 01 submitted by Marcel DeMars, Manager of Bylaw and Airport Services, regarding 2023 Compliance Summary Report; and further, THAT Council receives report ENF2024-01 regarding 2023 Compliance Summary Report for information purposes. RESOLVED THAT: Council is in receipt of Administration Report TR2024-02 submitted by Aaron MacGregor, Deputy Treasurer, regarding 2024 Section 359 Application; and further, THAT Council set a meeting date to make a decision regarding the Section 359 Application, at which the person in respect of whom this application is made may make representations to Council; and further, THAT Council sets a meeting date of April 10, 2024 at 6:30 p.m.; and further, THAT Council directs Administration to notify the Treasurer, and the person in respect of whom the application is made, of the meeting by mail, sent at least 14 days before the meeting. RESOLVED THAT: Council is in receipt of Administration Report PW2024-01 submitted by Tyler Brewster, Director of Public Works, regarding Rubber Tire Excavator Rental; and further, THAT Council gives pre-budget approval in the amount of $68,080 for the six-month rental and delivery of a rubber tire excavator to complete the 2024 ditching maintenance program. RESOLVED THAT: Council is in receipt of Administration Report PW2024-02 submitted by Tyler Brewster, Director of Public Works, regarding Street Sweeper Purchase; and further, THAT Council gives pre-budget approval in the amount of $49,500 for the purchase and delivery of the used Street Sweeper. RESOLVED THAT: Council is in receipt of Administration Report FD2024-02 submitted by Don Kruger, Fire Chief, regarding Fire Department Monthly Report; and further, THAT Council receives the Fire Chief’s monthly report as presented. RESOLVED THAT: Council is in receipt of Administration Report ADM2024- 06 submitted by Katie Law, Executive Assistant, regarding Proposed Increase to Taxi Fares; and further, THAT Council approves the revised taxi fares as requested; and further; THAT Council approves the Bylaw to Regulate and Licence Taxi and Other Vehicles for Hire. RESOLVED THAT: Council is in receipt of Administration Report ADM2024- 07 submitted by Florence MacLean, CAO, regarding Manitouwadge Anniversary Committee -- Terms of Reference; and further, THAT Council approves the establishment of the Manitouwadge Anniversary Committee as a Committee of Council; and further, THAT Council approves the Terms of Reference for the Manitouwadge Anniversary Committee; and further, THAT Council directs staff to immediately advertise for applications from residents of Manitouwadge for consideration of volunteer appointments to the Committee; and further, THAT Council directs staff to bring back a Report to Council at the March 20, 2024 regular Council meeting with applicant information for Council's consideration for volunteer appointments to the Manitouwadge Anniversary Committee; and further, THAT Council defers the Council appointment to the Committee.
