Special Council

RESOLVED THAT: the Special Meeting commence at the hour of 8:01 p.m. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT: Council acknowledges that we are meeting in the Robinson-Superior Treaty area on lands that have been traditionally used by several Indigenous nations, but, we would like to pay special recognition to our closest Indigenous neighbours, the communities of Biigtigong Nishnaabeg and Pic Mobert First Nations. We wish to recognize the long history of the First Nations and Métispeoples in our region, specifically, and show respect to them today.

RESOLVED THAT: the agenda be approved as circulated.

RESOLVED THAT: Council is in receipt of Administration Report TR2023-07 submitted by Aaron MacGregor, Deputy Treasurer regarding the 2023 and 2024 Budget and 2023 Tax Rate; and further, THAT Council directs staff to seek public input on the proposed 2023 and 2024 Municipal Operating and Capital Budgets; and further, THAT Council request staff to post notice of a Special Meeting of Council at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 to answer any questions raised by the public during the two week consultation period; and further, THAT it is Council’s intent to pass the 2023 and 2024 Municipal Operating and Capital Budgets on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at the regular scheduled meeting of Council.

Being a By-law to Confirm the Proceedings of the Council of the Township of Manitouwadge at its Special Meeting held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, be read a first and second time. Page 2 of 3 And Furthermore, be read a third time, passed and numbered as By-law No. 2023- 43.
